8. Research - Clean Eating

The best meaning of clean eating is eating food in its most natural state, or as close to it as possible. It's not a diet, it’s a choice you make towards your food which results in a healthier lifestyle.
There seem to be a number of other various theories about clean eating. One theory is cutting out all processed foods but another it means to avoid meats and dairy.
An author called Tosca Reno who is a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner, writes popular books about Clean Eating which include recipes that are nutritious and taste good.

Her guidelines are:

  • Eat 5 or 6 small meals every day
  • Eat every 2 to 3 hours
  • Combine lean protein and complex carbs at every meal
  • Consume adequate healthy fats each day
  • Drink at least 2 litres, or 8 cups, of water each day
  • Never miss a meal, especially breakfast
  • Avoid over-processed, refined foods, especially white flour and sugar
  • Avoid chemicals, preservatives, and artificial sugar
  • Avoid saturated and trans fats
  • Avoid sugar like loaded colas and juices
  • Consume adequate healthy fats each day
  • Avoid alcohol which is another form of sugar
  • Avoid all calorie-dense foods that contain little or no nutritional value
  • Depend on fresh fruits and vegetables for fibre, vitamins, and enzymes
  • Stick to proper portion sizes

She doesn't mention that any groups of foods should be cut out of your diet, but to keep the portions a decent and healthy size. Still eat meats, grains, fruits and veges and include fats.
Her guidelines are to improve your health.

Again, it's not a weight loss diet, it is a way to help you keep a healthier lifestyle
